The Adventure Playground that is connected to our centre was the inspiration behind the current structure of our organisation.
After a protracted struggle to secure a permanent location for the playground, it was opened in 1975.
Our campaign was successful, and the playground's location was assigned to the management committee as a permanent location in 1977.
The playground is regularly inspected by Ofsted and satisfies all requirements for the provision of child services.
More than 300 kids have signed up for the adventure playground as of right now.
In the summer of 2015, The Adventure Playground turned 40. To commemorate this milestone, a celebration was held on August 14, 2016, which was divided into two separate events.
Daytime festivities included bouncy castles, tonnes of food, entertainment, and a disco on the "Addy" for the kids.
A special thank you must go out to LEASOWE COMMUNITY HOMES, who together with the management committee funded the event.
In the evening, Leasowe Brambles will host a celebration (formerly The Oyster Catcher).
If we reflect back to those times, the "Oyster" played a significant role in the adventure playground over the years. Back then, a great deal of money was raised by the numerous patrons of the "Oyster."
For all the adults, both past and present, the evening included a meal and a disco.
RORY HEAP and his wife Connie attended the celebrations on the day in August when we witnessed a very special guest attend.
In spite of the normal British weather, the entire day was a fantastic success!
