At Kirkburton Pre-School, we offer excellent care and instruction.
Our top goal is meeting the needs of the kids.
We put a lot of effort into giving all of our kids a secure yet exciting atmosphere so they can happily develop at their own speed while embracing the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS).
We offer a great location with enough of space to facilitate a variety of entertaining and informative pre-school activities in essential play areas, including, to name a few, a home corner, an indoor sandpit, role-play, sensory play, a reading forest, and a music corner.
The children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and develop confidence and happiness in our safe and joyful atmosphere.
The Key Person System has been implemented in our preschool.
When a child enrols in preschool, a Key Person is assigned to them.
The Key Person is in charge of making sure that each child's requirements are recognised in the preschool and that a customised curriculum or play plan is created to address those needs.
We have written policies at our preschool that are always available for parents and caregivers to read.
To strengthen the bond between the home and preschool, we publish monthly newsletters throughout the year.
The newsletter will keep parents and caregivers informed about the activities the kids have been involved in this term, as well as any upcoming fundraising activities or projects they might want to get involved in. It will also let them know about any other exciting news that can be shared with the families.
Additionally, we announce the dates of the bi-annual parents evenings in the newsletter.
These give parents and caregivers the chance to visit the preschool, meet with their child's key worker, and view their child's progress in their files.

We are connected to the Kirkburton and Highburton first schools in the community.
Before the children attend their reception class, staff members from these two schools visit them in the pre-school setting.
We've discovered that collaborating closely with the teachers makes it possible for the kids to transfer to first school more easily.
At the moment, our preschool team consists of six people.
IMPORTANT NOTE Bank holiday in May Preschool will be closed on Monday, May 4, as noted. For qualified 2 and 3 year olds, funded 15 and 30 hours are offered.
