Welcoming you to Kirk Hammerton CE Primary School makes me very happy.
We are a tiny village school located in the centre of our local neighbourhood with high aspirations.
Along with Long Marston CE Primary School and Staveley Community Primary School, Kirk Hammerton CE Primary School is a member of a federation of schools.
We aim to widen the experience of children in small school settings and share the expertise of our experienced and committed staff through the TIG Federation's (Togetherness Inspires Growth) credo.
Our curriculum, in our opinion, begins at the centre.
Transferable knowledge and skills that prepare our students for life in contemporary Britain and build cultural capital are intertwined and linked throughout the learning that takes place in our schools.
Children in our federation will grow more resilient to setbacks and exhibit increased independence in their quest for self-assurance.
They will be better able to solve issues on their own when it comes to studying as well as social and emotional elements of their lives.
Our experience is that kids are incredibly interested in learning about their planet and its diversity.
We have designed our curriculum to continuously emphasise diversity.
We encourage a passion for knowledge and education so that kids grow up with incredibly optimistic views of their own capacity to learn new things.
We achieve this by emphasising metacognition and a growth mentality.
By fostering a lifelong habit of questioning in kids, we help them develop the self-assurance to be imaginative and continue their explorations.
Our extensive curriculum is structured to build on prior knowledge while also exciting and stimulating the kids in a way that is appropriate for their age and stage.
