From the Intake Pre-School
According to the government, British values include democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect for one another.
Promoting these principles is extremely important to us at Intake Pre School, and we work hard to accomplish it every day via the pre school experience.
We implement a uniform, all-encompassing strategy to promote the pre-school rules.
Children should have a good self-image as part of a focus on people and communities, as well as self-assurance and self-awareness, according to Personal Social and Emotional Development and Understanding the World.
We encourage a variety of activities that help kids explore the language of emotions and responsibility, think about their differences, and realise that it's okay to have different opinions. For instance, have a small group discussion about how they feel about moving into the reception class. Talk about the different snack preferences the kids have and how not everyone has to like the same things.
As stated in Personal Social and Emotional Development and Understanding the World, we place a strong emphasis on people and communities, managing emotions and behaviour, and building relationships. By doing this, we foster an inclusive and tolerant environment where views, faiths, cultures, and races are valued and kids are actively involved in their local community.
We hope that all children will learn to tolerate, appreciate, and respect other cultures as well as their own; become aware of the similarities and differences within and between families, communities, faiths, cultures, and traditions; and share and talk about customs, holidays, and experiences.
We promote tolerance by highlighting the value of actions like sharing and respecting others' viewpoints.
By sharing tales that reflect and celebrate the diversity of children's experiences, as well as by offering tools and activities that combat gender, cultural, and racial stereotyping, we encourage varied views and challenge stereotypes.
Every day, we go over our behaviour policy with the kids to ensure that it has high but realistic expectations for behaviour.
Through the organising of religious events, the open use of equipment that reflects diverse faiths and cultures, as well as visual materials, books, and activities, tolerance of different faiths and beliefs is encouraged.
