Most students from Innsworth Infant School continue their studies in the primary phase at Innsworth Junior School.
Every school was governed by a separate body.
Although the two institutions have traditionally collaborated, it was decided in 2013 that merging the two governing bodies would allow for even greater collaboration and a better educational experience for students.
On September 1st of that year, the Innsworth Schools Partnership was established.
The appointment of Mrs. Lisa Jones as Executive Headteacher with oversight of both schools on September 1, 2015, further solidified the bonds between the two institutions.
The expression "critical friend" is frequently used to characterise the governors' general job, which is to support the headteacher and the staff.
The Headteacher and Staff are assisted by the Governors in setting and achieving goals and pursuing excellence in all facets of school life.
Every term, the Governing Body convenes at least once (6 meetings per academic year).
The school budget's use in the classroom and for facilities and buildings is examined by the Resourcing and Staffing Committee.
Different groups with an interest in the schools are represented by various sorts of governor.
The Headteacher, Parent Governors, and Staff Governor are among them (elected by staff from both schools).
The local government, Gloucestershire County Council, proposes one of those co-opted governors.
The founding of the Innsworth Schools Partnership was motivated by this.
Since the establishment of Innsworth Schools Partnership on September 1, 2014, no member (Governor) of the Governing Body has received payment for services rendered.
