Families from a variety of cultural backgrounds have come to us, and their kids have forged strong connections in our welcoming environment.
We value each child's individuality and have discovered that the kids in our neighbourhood love picking up each other's languages and forming new connections.
Our greatest joy is watching each new young child grow and develop over the course of their two or three years with us into a confident, happy individual, becoming proficient in English if they arrive from abroad, and developing strong and enduring relationships with other kids.
Our cutting-edge school was one of the first custom-built daycare facilities in the 1920s, and in keeping with Freidrich Froebel's educational philosophy, the kids are constantly exposed to the outdoors.
As one of Oxford's most international nursery schools, we now teach children to speak fluent English alongside their native tongue starting at the age of two and a half, when language development is at its most rapid.
We discover that the optimum learning environment to unlock each child's potential combines free choice and controlled activities.
In order to allow each person to develop at their own rate, teachers tenderly foster each child's emotional, physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual growth. (To meet some of our professors and learn more about our methodology, see the 'Our Staff' page.)
We develop each child holistically.
Children get emotional, spiritual, and educational nurture in our serene setting, as well as exposure to music, dance, and active Pilates classes.
Our curriculum is based on a seasonal approach that draws from the teachings of Friedrich Froebel, Maria Montessori, and Rudolf Steiner.
Children grow up with a strong awareness for the natural environment around them because they are constantly exposed to it.
At Hunsdon House, we strive for a pleasant start to children by encouraging creativity, freedom, and joy.
Each kid is free to explore our lovely educational resources at their own speed and in their own way, and this freedom encourages them to create their own learning preferences.
Our nursery offers a calm, leisurely learning atmosphere that fosters the development of self-assurance, social skills, and empathy for others.
We encourage kids to develop compassionate, resourceful, and responsible personalities while growing in harmony with nature.
It is always wonderful to see the difference after only a year or two, as they transform into outgoing and sociable little people, surrounded by friends and ready for school!.
Many of our past students treasure and remember their time with us fondly, and they like returning to Hunsdon House to assist in raising the young ones. They are always welcome!
