Greetings from Greyfriars Day Nursery. The nursery manager here is myself, Lauren.
Greyfriars Nursery, located in a historic vicarage with a beautiful garden in the centre of Reading's town centre and only a six-minute walk from Reading Station, provides a charming and comfortable setting for kids between the ages of three months and five years.
All children should get a combination of care and education in a fun and relaxing setting.
To foster a genuine love of learning, provide an atmosphere that supports fundamental reading, science, problem-solving, physical development, relationship-building, and a genuine sense of pleasure.
To deliver the greatest Early Years education in a secure, interesting, and enjoyable setting, our passionate, caring, and professional team collaborates closely with parents.
The minimum qualification for senior employees and room leaders is an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Educator, or an equivalent. All of these individuals are certified nursery nurses.
We provide all of our employees thorough introduction and development training so they completely comprehend our culture and rules and can keep improving their abilities.
Our nursery manager and designated safeguarding lead, Lauren has worked with us for over eleven years.
She has Levels 2, 3, and 4 in childcare as well as Level 3 in management, making her an accomplished childcare worker.
Additionally, Lauren has received training in food safety, designated safeguarding, fire safety, prevent duty, first aid, and safer recruiting.
With levels 2 and 3 in childcare as well as level 3 in management, Katie is the Baby Room leader.
Katie has nine years of childcare experience.
She likes supporting kids as they develop, learn, and reach their milestones.
Mel has worked with Greyfriars for more than 10 years.
Mel serves as our deputy manager, designated safeguarding officer, and SENCO.
Kim is a senior nursery nurse who has completed levels 2, 3, and 3 in management as well as childcare.
Outside of the nursery, Kim enjoys spending time with her family.
Jessica is the nursery's designated safeguarding officer.
We work under a Christian ethos that is characterised by the virtues of faith, hope, and love.
