At our school, democracy is one of the three curricular drives and a core value.
Every child may learn in a secure setting thanks to our school's "Golden Rules," the "Good To Be Green" behaviour system, and the variety of award and reward programmes we use.
Our students are taught the importance of laws, their justifications, how they regulate and safeguard us, the duties that come with this, and the repercussions of breaking the law.
Pupils are actively encouraged to make decisions at school because they know they can do so in a setting that is safe and encouraging.
Through the provision of a secure atmosphere and an empowering curriculum, we teach and set boundaries for our students to make decisions safely.
Through PSHE lectures and specialised themed weeks, such as E-Safety Week, our students are encouraged to know, understand, and use their rights and personal freedoms. They are also given advice on how to do so securely.
This is one of our six core values and is fundamental to the culture of our school.
Through our broad and balanced curriculum the children get the opportunity to study different world faiths' beliefs, traditions and customs in depth, with guest speakers and visitors being invited in to our school to enrich and extend pupils' understanding further.
