Situated between Lichfield and Tamworth, Elswick House is a small, private nursery school, on the edge of the beautiful village of Whittington, surrounded by open countryside, farms and woodland.
We cater for children from birth to school age and are OFSTED registered for 31 children.
Established in September 1986, Elswick House Nursery School is part of the 18th century stable block of one of the oldest houses in Whittington.
The children can then choose to stay in the Robins Room for free play at the start of the day, or go to the Owls Room for a learning session of phonics, number, colour matching and book work, using our pre-school writing and activity books.
Our policy is to let the children stay together as a group of mixed ages, and to allow them to choose which activity they want to do, as their interests dictate.
Our aim at Elswick House is to give children the best possible start in life and to ensure that, when they go to school, they are confident, independent and sociable young people, with a highly developed curiosity and a love of learning.

It takes a lot of trust to entrust your child with a group of people and to ask them to effectively assist in their upbringing, and that is what we did, and we couldn't have asked for a better nursery experience for xxxxxxxx.
Linden and Richard, you have created and maintained a perfect setting for young children that, combined with wonderful staff, great facilities and exciting ideas, creates the best start in life our children could wish for.
Parents are always welcome to visit Elswick House, but it is best to phone for an appointment (01543 432329), to ensure that, either the Proprietor, or the Nursery Manager, is available at the time of the visit.
On 1st September 2021 Elswick House Nursery School transferred its business to Elswick House Nursery School Limited, but it continues to trade under the same title, Elswick House Nursery School.
The transfer was for commercial reasons only, and the business continues to operate in exactly the same way as it has always done.
The descriptions, reports and other information found here however, relating to Elswick House Nursery School, remain a true and accurate representation of Elswick House Nursery School Limited.
Please note that Elswick House Nursery School was judged Outstanding in its last two inspections.
However there is currently no judgement about Elswick House Nursery School Limited as Elswick House Nursery School Limited is still awaiting its first Ofsted inspection.
