In Elmwood Preschool, family tradition and variety are valued partnerships between students, teachers, parents, and the local community.
We give kids a strong basis upon which they can learn to communicate creatively and effectively. They also gain a sense of inner strength and confidence that will carry them through their future.
The staff will collaborate with the parent/carers to ensure that the settling-in process runs as smoothly as possible in order to ensure that your kid feels happy and safe while they are with us.
Parents and caregivers are urged to accompany the keyperson on this trip by providing information and aiding with at-home learning.

To track the development and accomplishments of the children, we are now using Tapestry Online Journals.
All of their daily observations, photos, and videos will be digitally saved in our new online learning journals, but work samples and creations will be sent home.
We have chosen to switch to this secure online system for assessment and record-keeping because it will enable quick and thorough evaluations with the added bonus of excellent chances for family involvement.
Tapestry will enable us to easily incorporate parent voice into each child's learning diary. Parent contributions to and comments about their child's learning are invaluable to us.
Every preschooler will have a personal account, to which parents will be given login information so they can view their child's educational journey whenever it is convenient on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Additionally, parent accounts give parents the chance to contribute observations, pictures, or videos of their children's home learning.
We will maintain a Learning Journey Scrapbook if you do not have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
In order to fully understand your child's perspective, we occasionally record everything they say regarding the pictures. These are quick snapshots of significant learning moments that we have observed in your child.
When necessary, we also conduct longer observations in greater depth.
Episodes of Learning Stories These special detailed observations give snapshots of learning that the children have initiated themselves, and adults go on to think about the learning and how to respond to specifically to the childs way of thinking and doing things.
