In order to teach kids ages 9 to 14 how to code, Gerard made the decision to purchase a Raspberry Pi in 2016.
In July 2016, we began working on a 4-day Electronics Bootcamp with a small group of students. Since then, it has grown to be our most well-liked bootcamp and continues to be offered all year long.
When the owners of the cafe decided to sell it in the spring of 2017, DiscoG Coding Academy felt like it belonged there.
In addition to working on-site to construct our Coding Academy, we put a lot of effort into running coding bootcamps for Mini Coders and Young Coders throughout the summer of 2017.
This film details our path from tearing down the old cafe to creating our Coding Academy, which is now genuinely comfortable.
A Year 10 student who participated in a week of work experience at our academy created the slideshow below.

The CEO and co-founder of DiscoG Coding Academy is Gerard Papet.
DiscoG Educational Apps was started by him.
He created two apps in 2015 primarily to help youngsters with learning disabilities comprehend fundamental literacy and numeracy skills for the London Borough of Barking.
It was clear from the beginning that her creativity could play a big role in helping younger children to understand computational concepts, so she wrote DiscoG's first textbook for children aged 9+ to help them to learn to write programs in Python with an emphasis on digital art.
This textbook later served as the foundation for a programme designed to teach younger kids (Mini Coders, ages 6 to 8) to the field of coding.
