Both the parents and the kids at Daisybank Nursery don't worry about being muddy or wet. They all understand that the kids are learning more than they would normally be able to about life and the environment, about having the courage to take chances, and about developing responsibility and respect for nature. The idea of a Forest School, which was first introduced in Denmark, provides children with learning opportunities that are currently recognised by research as being the most beneficial to a child's development. This is especially true for boys, who enjoy being able to build dens out of tree branches and then go on picnics or listen to stories outside the confines of a traditional nursery. The kids adore freshly made roast meals, fruits and veggies from nearby farms, and the greatest food available. In addition to serving delicious food, emphasis is placed on creating a social environment at mealtimes so that toddlers and young children can cheerfully eat with older children and adults. One-of-a-kind childcare is offered at Daisybank Nursery, where children are valued and nourished by highly trained and experienced personnel in a friendly setting.
