Phonics will still be used to teach kids how to read.
Letter sounds for reading and spelling will still be taught to children, but they will get more complicated.
Year 1 students take a required phonics screening test in the summer to make sure they are improving their fundamental phonic abilities.

Asking your child a lot of questions about what they are reading can help them understand the tale on a deeper level and improve their reading abilities, which will aid in the development of these skills.
You'll see that your youngster has two reading books and one book of their choosing.
Two of the reading materials are phonics books based on the phase and sound we are studying in class, one of which is their benchmarked level book (with a coloured number sticker).
At school, there are many opportunities for the kids to switch up their reading material, and we read one-on-one with every kid at least once a week.
Your kid will have a book with a benchmarked level at school that they bring home to read with you.
Your child's phonics/word reading skills and understanding of the text they just read are assessed using samples from each level.

This problem can be resolved by asking lots of questions to make sure your child comprehends what they are reading, as comprehension is just as crucial as reading the text.
Parents and other caregivers can have the most impact on their children's reading achievement by encouraging them to read as often and as broadly as they can at home.
Even just five minutes a day of reading with your child may make a big effect in their development.
