From the Child's Play Pre-school
Thea Arthur and Susan Raftery, two parents from the area, founded and run Childs Play Pre-School, which formally opened its doors in April 2008. On Portsmouth Road, in the United Reformed Church, is a fantastic spot for Childs Play. We have close ties to St. Nicolas Infant School, which is located across the street from us. It takes 5 minutes to stroll into the town centre. Additionally, we have parking spaces for parents who must drive. The kids can play freely throughout the morning in our delightful, light-filled room, and they also always have access to the playground outdoors. We are open five days a week and provide tax-free childcare, 15 or 30 hours of financing, FEET, childcare vouchers, and stand-alone afternoon sessions from 12 to 2:45 p.m. (Monday to Thursday). For our older kids, we also provide regularly scheduled Forest School classes, which are very well-liked. For additional information, please visit our page on forest schools. Our small, welcoming preschool places a strong emphasis on learning through play. We want to give the kids a safe, loving environment where they may feel accepted and content as members of a group that loves everyone equally, regardless of their skills, gender, age, colour, or cultural heritage. We have a terrific selection of contemporary toys and tools that offer a wide range of activities for children ages 2 to 5. With lots of adult assistance, children are able to grow at their own rate, becoming well-rounded individuals who are content and confident to attend school.
