The Cheylesmore Community Center (the only remaining Coventry War Hostel) is operated by the Cheylesmore Community Association, which was established in 1948. In 1965, it was incorporated as a charity. In 2010, the group reorganised as a nonprofit corporation. A 50-year lease from Coventry City Council was secured in 2012. In the past, it served as a management and hostel during World War 2, followed by Cheylesmore School, a church and Sunday school before nearby schools and Quinton Baptist Church, and finally a school. Cheylesmore Community Centre is currently a well-liked location for social, educational, and recreational activities after undergoing a significant overhaul. The Cheylesmore Community Library, Coventry's first totally community-led and volunteer-run library, is also located in our neighbourhood. Our amazing new Coffee Shop C3 is also housed in the structure. You can be sure that when you purchase a coffee here, you are making an investment in your neighbourhood because all revenues go toward improving the centre and community projects. Additionally, the Cheylesmore Community Centre presents a special chance for event organisers, artists, and local companies to produce memorable occasions. offering free wifi, parking, and more than 10 flexible spaces. You can count on our committed staff at Cheylesmore Community Centre to provide you with attentive service. Be a gathering place for neighbourhood residents; instead of organising events in the Center, the Association should provide the spaces for them to take place. Helping to strengthen community capacity will enable local groups to better satisfy needs in their communities, particularly where gaps in service have been identified. With the opening of the Community Library and Youth Club in 2019, this process started in 2017. A neighbourhood cafe will open soon. Encourage locals to get involved in running the centre and supporting the events that are happening by encouraging them to volunteer.
