Children's interests are very much based on the present, thus at the Center preschool, we strive to teach in the present and make sure that our preparation is spontaneous and specific to each kid.
Planning in the moment is all about seizing the opportunity for kids to advance based on what they're already really into.
Making written plans Because we follow the children's lead, this method of working necessitates little advance planning. We document what we have done to assist the children in moving forward each day by way of their next steps, and these are reflected in the children's observations on their online Tapestry notebook.
It is the duty of every one of our practitioners to emphasise development in observations.
By adding observations to their children's Tapestry journals, parents are also urged to share any observations of their children's "wow" moments at home.
We have three or four focal children each week instead of focus activities.
Parents will receive a letter through Tapestry the week before a child is selected as one of our focus children clarifying this and requesting you to submit your knowledge of your child along with a few pictures.
Every kid is a focus child once every three terms, giving parents the chance to provide input and discuss with us in a systematic manner each term.
