The organisation was founded in 1987 when Peter Mumford, then the Bishop of Truro, saw the need to discover effective ways to involve underprivileged youth in order to ensure that their potential was unleashed.
Our outdoor education centre now provides 4,000 children and young people with support each year through NCS, customised school residentials, and charitable programmes.

Trustees are essential to the organization's governance because they monitor our work and impact, our financial viability, and our ability to fulfil our goals and future vision for 2025.
The chance to direct or assist in the execution of a variety of inclusive outdoor exercise programmes both on and off site is an exciting one!
The right applicants will be able to train to run a number of activities for a range of groups, including but not limited to school children, families, individuals, and kids in our adventure holiday club. They will be able to instruct a variety of sessions.

This is a permanent, full-time position.
A BF Adventure Skills for Life Instructor's main responsibility is to accompany kids and teenagers on their path of change and to help them build their social and personal skills via participation in outdoor activities, which is assisted by our Trauma Informed Youth Work method.
Skills for Life instructors are clearly passionate about learning opportunities that the outdoors offers kids and teenagers.
In this Level 2 position, Instructors have the chance to expand their skill set, therefore a dedication to this personal growth is crucial.
