For nearly 40 years, the Harlesden-based Asian Women's Resource Center has offered help to women who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced domestic abuse.
Our offerings include expert guidance, information for domestic abuse victims, assistance in finding safe homes, advocacy, interpreters, and access to counselling and legal representation.
The AWRC is commemorating 40 years of service this year. During that time, it has helped women and children who have been victims of domestic violence, forced marriages, honor-based abuse, and abuse based on their religious beliefs.
As a result, in honour of our 40th Anniversary, AWRC is raising 40,000 to protect another 40,000 women from violence.
We welcome referrals from nonprofit, civic, and government organisations.
Every referral will receive individualised attention.
To be eligible for this funding, you must meet certain requirements.
We collaborate with many different specialised services and can connect them to other organisations that can help women.
Additionally, we are able to direct women to other programmes that can meet their requirements.
We conduct events and courses all year long to support women in gaining new skills, empowering themselves, and achieving their goals.
Additionally, throughout the year, workshops on employment and health are held.
At our centre, we often host workshops to inform women about the services that are available to them.
