Since 2008, we have been an award-winning provider of forest schools. the greatest and oldest in the region.
While in preschool, your child will have the chance to participate in frequent activities at the nursery's woodland, which is about 10 minutes away by car, and at a sizable allotment site, which is located 5 minutes' walk from our Chilwell nursery.
The Royal Forestry Society honoured Alphabet House with a coveted excellence award for its Forest Schools programme. We outperformed dozens of nurseries and institutions from throughout the UK.
A novel method of fostering independence and self-worth in a wooded environment is through the use of forest schools, an idea that originated in Denmark.
Our lessons are built on hands-on, experiential learning, are intended to motivate learning across the curriculum, and are tailored to the learning preferences of the students.
Children are able to work at their own pace, developing their own abilities and gaining confidence along the way, whether we are building dens, looking for mini-beasts, digging for treasure, cooking over a campfire, or simply learning about the woodland environment.
The magnificent private woodland is available for use by Alphabet House (Long Eaton and Chilwell only). It is a lovely, secure location that changes with the seasons and is teeming with vegetation, flowers, and wildlife.
Our lovely allotment site, 2 minutes away from our Chilwell nursery, is also where we deliver. There are many various kinds of trees, plants, and animals here as well as plenty of natural, undeveloped areas to explore.
To leave a legacy for all the kids who have come to play in the woods, we always plant trees there in the fall.
