Marlborough Primary School actively embraces democracy.
We strongly encourage kids to speak up and regularly express their viewpoints.
Every September, students in grades Y2 through Y6 vote in a secret ballot election to elect representatives for their classes to the school council, with the results being announced during an assembly.
In the Children's Parliament and at the House of Commons, kids frequently participate. (
Children are taught that it is legal to hold various faiths and ideologies.
To reinforce this, we welcome visits from/from the local police and fire departments.
Children are actively encouraged to make decisions while they are in school since they are in a secure and encouraging environment.
To ensure they make decisions that are safe, teachers teach kids about personal freedoms and how to use them effectively (through Online safety and PSHE lessons).
Students are given the flexibility to make decisions through challenges in the classroom, involvement in extracurricular groups, and other opportunities to participate on various school committees.
Children come to understand how their actions affect both their own rights and those of others.
Everyone associated with the school is expected to treat one another with respect and consideration.
This is represented in our culture, basic beliefs, and aspirations for the future.
Our school actively promotes its diversity through events honouring other religions and cultures.
Lessons and assemblies in PSHE and religious education highlight the need of tolerance and respect for others.
The kids go to religious sites that are significant to several religions.
While attending Marlborough, children study about the doctrines and customs of adherents of the following world religions: Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam.
When students, teachers, or parents voice beliefs that go against the core British Values, particularly those that are radical, Marlborough vigorously challenges them.
